King Willem-Alexander opened the renovated House of the Province in Arnhem on 20 September.
The provincial house on the Markt has been completely renovated in the past year and a half. Five buildings around the Markt in Arnhem have been refurbished, downsized and form an ensemble of buildings that is an inseparable whole. A large, transparent roof has been placed in the main courtyard. The building, which was built in 1954 and is a reconstruction monument, also looks completely different from the inside. A new office has been built next to the provincial government office for provincial officials. Two old offices have been demolished for this purpose.
