Kneuterdijk 1 1

Transformation from bank building to top hotel

At the beginning of 2019, preparations started for the transformation of the former ABN Amro building on Kneuterdijk in The Hague. The original historic building, designed by architect HF Mertens from 1923, was largely demolished, renovated and expanded in the XNUMXs, but the impressive facade with many ornaments has been preserved and the important cultural-historical architecture has thus been preserved. stayed.

In this prestigious project, located in the heart of the city center of The Hague, two areas of expertise of Valstar Simonis come together; experience with the transformation of buildings and knowledge of the hotel sector. Special attention within this assignment is circular construction and careful consideration is given to the reuse of materials.

In addition, it is extremely important in this luxury hotel segment that comfort is not compromised. Valstar Simonis is responsible for the realization of innovative and intelligent systems. Examples of this include security, smart lighting control, and the realization of climate installations, in which a continuous trade-off has to be made between functionality and ease of use for hotel guests. Moreover, the operational reliability of all installations is extremely important.

The building will soon be transformed into a beautiful hotel with 220 rooms. The first VOCO . will be built on the Kneuterdijktm hotel in Europe, part of InterContinental Hotels Group, a hotel chain in the luxury segment.

After the summer of 2019, the first construction work will start and the first guests will be welcomed at the end of 2020.
