The conversion of the former ministry building at 67 Bezuidenhoutseweg in The Hague into temporary housing for the House of Representatives of the States General is completed.
We were part of a team, led by the Central Government Real Estate Agency and Strukton Worksphere, that completed this assignment. The design is by Zecc Architects.
We have contributed to this special assignment with our experience and knowledge of technical installations and, in particular, circular construction.
Due to necessary maintenance, it is not possible to work on the Binnenhof for more than 5 years. That is why temporary accommodation was needed where the House of Representatives can work safely and undisturbed. The assignment also included facilities to properly and safely accommodate the influx of many visitors, such as students, day trippers and guests. The following facilities are available in the temporary accommodation, among others: a new visitor's entrance, the Statenpassage (central hall), several committee rooms, a plenary hall with public gallery, a restaurant, office spaces and a multimedia room.
