The TVVL Technique Day 2019 took place in mid-November. It was an inspiring day and full of knowledge sharing and new encounters. As part of the knowledge-sharing theme, the practical step-by-step model 'the circularity disk' for designing circular building installations was also launched during this day. During a presentation, together with Esther Gerritsen (Haskoning DHV), Theo de Boer (Valstar Simonis) looked back at how this design tool came about in three fascinating development sessions.
During these previous sessions, terms such as 3R design strategy (Rethink, Reuse and Recycle) and aspects such as reclassifiability, adaptability, detachability and origin were discussed in detail.
Theo de Boer and Esther Gerritsen also indicated how the design strategy can be applied and gave a glimpse into the further development. Of course it is essential that the knowledge is further disseminated within the TVVL community (and beyond!) and they gave some practical examples of this. Such as organizing digital meetings and posting tips & tricks.
Prior to the presentation of keynote speaker Thomas Rau (entrepreneur, architect, innovator), he received the innovative 'circularity disk' design tool from Esther.
Valstar Simonis finds it extremely important to make our society more sustainable. Every day we work on comfortable, flexible buildings that do not burden our living environment. This circularity disk certainly offers a valuable contribution to this.
