Mechanical engineering project leader

Valstar Simonis is a consultancy and engineering firm specialized in installation technology. With approximately 70 employees spread over four locations, we form a close-knit group of motivated colleagues who proudly work on leading projects. Our employees appreciate the independence they receive in their work and the extent to which investments are made in their (personal) development. In this way, we not only work on sustainable installation designs, but also on the sustainable employability of our employees.

What does a Project Leader at Valstar Simonis do?

You actively participate in the design team and have a lot of contact with clients and other project team partners such as architects and constructors. In addition, you manage the engineers within the internal project teams and motivate them to deliver high-quality performance.
To do this, you use your knowledge and experience in the field of climate technology, sanitary facilities and sustainable energy techniques. Because of you, projects stay within budget and schedule and you contribute to making our society more sustainable.

  • You are responsible for the realization of the installation design and the implementation supervision of the most diverse projects;
  • You make and/or check working drawings and specifications in collaboration with the engineers you manage;
  • You monitor the quality of the advice and technical elaboration by the engineers;
  • You can independently estimate and calculate consultancy and installation costs;
  • You regularly sit at the table with implementing parties, where you represent the client, among other things.

Of course you are not alone; Within our organization, the advisor is responsible for projects from A to Z and will be a valuable sparring partner for you.

What does the profile of an interesting candidate look like for us?

  • Preferably you have followed a TU/HBO training and possibly supplemented this with technical follow-up courses (for example the HIT);
  • At project leader level you already have several years of experience in non-residential construction;
  • By listening carefully you are able to find out the (underlying) needs of the client or other discussion partners;
  • Preferably you have experience with technically complex projects. Examples of our projects are: renovation of Paleis 't Loo, the UMCG and the most sustainable education building in the world, the Atlas building of the TU in Eindhoven.
  • Some competencies that we think are appropriate for a Project Leader are; result-oriented, collaboration, communication, quality awareness.
  • The above points really don't all have to be 'ticked off'. We like to look further than just a CV and discuss whether there is a match.

What can you expect from us?

  • Complete employment conditions package including home work allowance (including internet allowance), lease car (electric);
  • Plenty of room for training and personal development;
  • Flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home;
  • A medium-sized organization with short lines of communication and personal attention for each other, in which colleagues are willing to share their knowledge to improve together;
  • Twice a year we hold an office meeting where all branches come together for a tour of one of our projects, followed by a drink or dinner where colleagues can catch up with each other.

Shall we meet?

Our HR Officer Jennifer is happy to meet you by telephone to discuss your ambitions and wishes, before she makes an appointment for you with one of our colleagues.
