Tu Delft Pulse Building

Junior Specialist Sustainability & Circularity

Have you just completed a great study and the world is your oyster? And would you like to leave that world as healthy as possible? Then Valstar Simonis has a great challenge for you.

Sustainability and circularity are high on our agenda. In our strategy we have set short and long term goals to: our projects (measurably) even more sustainable.

When our relations and clients come to us with their complex, technical questions, sustainability is almost always one of the requirements and if not, we are happy to put it on the agenda.

What does a Junior Specialist at Valstar Simonis do?

From our head office in The Hague you work on sustainability issues in the broadest sense. The application of sustainable energy and circularity are important areas of work, but climate adaptation and nature inclusivity are also increasingly part of our designs. This not only concerns research and feasibility studies, but also the certification of projects based on BREEAM, WELL and/or GPR. Installation technology is the basis for this, but the strategic and organizational aspects of sustainable and circular solutions are just as important.

  • You support the process supervisor of the largest ATES in Europe;
  • You map out the feasibility of PV applications (solar energy);
  • You conduct research into the impact of adjusting ventilation on the health of users;
  • You participate in the sustainability core team, in which you contribute to the pursuit of our sustainability ambitions;
  • In addition, you contribute to the development of the application of circular installations in the broadest sense.
  • You will eventually become one of our sustainability specialists who play an important role in achieving our sustainability ambitions. This way you can really make an impact.

What does the profile of an interesting candidate for Valstar Simonis look like?

  • Preferably you have followed a HBO or WO education, such as Mechanical Engineering, Sustainable Development or Technical Business Administration;
  • Perhaps you already have some work experience in the field of making buildings more sustainable at an installer or consultancy firm, that would be nice;
  • If you have knowledge of installation technology, that's a plus, but we find affinity with sustainability more important;
  • You are motivated to write clear and readable reports and you may eventually dare to present them externally.

What can you expect from us?

  • Complete employment conditions package including travel and home work allowance (including internet allowance), ample training opportunities;
  • We are happy to contribute to your development by making available internal and external training/courses or an internal coach;
  • A few times a year we organize company outings and dinners to maintain contact with colleagues;
  • Healthy work/life balance (for example, you are always free between Christmas and New Years);
  • Flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home;
  • A medium-sized organization with short lines of communication and personal attention for each other, in which colleagues are willing to share their knowledge in order to improve together.
