Mechanical Engineering Advisor Complex Projects

Are you the driving force behind our high-profile and sustainable projects, such as the renovation of Paleis 't Loo, the temporary housing of the House of Representatives or the University Medical Center Utrecht? And can you help our relations and clients with complex, technical issues with your expertise, advice or design? That is what we are looking for in an Advisor at Valstar Simonis.

Valstar Simonis is a consultancy firm in the field of installation technology. With approximately 70 employees, we work on 175 different projects every day. This could be making a design (VO/DO/TO), a strategic sustainability issue or the tender for the largest WKO in the Netherlands.

What does an Advisor at Valstar Simonis do?

As an advisor you are responsible for a number of projects. This could be 5 or 15, depending on the complexity and size. You have contact with (potential) clients and translate their wishes into a quotation. Because we often sit at the table in the preliminary stages of a project, we focus on making sustainable choices. It is up to you to advise the client in this. For each project you have a team of project leaders and engineers that you manage. You monitor the quality and without your approval the result document (e.g. VO or DO) will not go to the client. As a consultant you deliver what the client expects and even a little more. It just has to be good. As a consultant, you are not only responsible for good project management, supported by project administration, but you also determine the strategy in terms of technology. In summary:

  • Maintaining contacts with clients, architects, constructors, etc.;
  • Making quotations and working on European tenders;
  • Being responsible for a project from A to Z. Technology and project management;
  • Advising clients in the broad field of installation technology;
  • You make the design choices, preferably with the highest possible sustainable, circular ambitions.

What does the profile of an interesting candidate look like for us?

  • Our ideal candidate has completed a relevant TU/HBO education (for example Mechanical Engineering) and is familiar with our industry;
  • Knowledge of installations in hospitals is of great added value;
  • You have several years of experience in installation technology and can use (complex) technology to make an impact;
  • You are a positive person and nice to work with;
  • Although you know what you are talking about, you are certainly open to feedback and dare to make yourself vulnerable. You understand that this attitude helps to (continuously) improve the organization and yourself;
  • But above all you recognize yourself in our mission; we make maximum use of our knowledge for a healthy and sustainable world!

What can you expect from Valstar Simonis?

  • Complete employment conditions package including lease car, laptop, telephone, home workplace and ample training opportunities.
  • Our company is owned by the management and employees, which is why you will eventually have the opportunity to participate in a stable and ambitious company that contributes to making the built environment more sustainable.
  • Healthy work/life balance (for example, you are always free between Christmas and New Years);
  • Flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home;
  • A medium-sized organization with a family culture; short lines and personal attention for each other.
